Brewery Square wraps up Christmas celebrations with festive film favourites

Dorchester’s Brewery Square is wrapping up its final late night shopping event of the season with showings of The Snowman and The Snowman and The Snowdog taking place on the Screen On The Square on Thursday 23rd December at 6pm.

The event marks the end of the Square’s jam-packed schedule of festive activities, which also included live music, craft activities and the return of Skating In The Square.

Charlotte Spracklen, Centre Manager at Brewery Square, said: “We are all incredibly pleased with how our 2021 Christmas events have been received. It’s been such a treat to see so many friends and family come together to enjoy our range of events. We’d like to thank all our visitors for coming to support us and our local businesses and look forward to ending our schedule on a high with our showing of The Snowman and The Snowdog.”

As part of Brewery Square’s festive events schedule, two very special visitors made an appearance at the Square last weekend, as Father Christmas and local author Emma Mumford paid a visit to the Square to hand out gifts to shoppers.

Father Christmas visited the Square’s annual grotto to meet families and spread the festive cheer, while also treating unsuspecting skaters to a surprise appearance on the ice rink.

Emma Mumford, an award-winning author, life coach and mentor, visited Brewery Square to hand out free copies of her book and journal, named ‘Positively Wealthy’. The book, published by Watkins, is a 33-day guide, providing readers with accessible tools and steps to cultivate more happiness, abundance and joy in their lives.

Emma Mumford said: “I chose Brewery Square as the place to do my Christmas book giveaway as being from Dorchester myself, I love getting involved with my local community and often spend my weekends in Brewery Square. There is such a great buzz and with all their fun Christmas events this year, I felt this would be the perfect place to spread some Christmas cheer.”

The Snowman will be shown on the Screen On The Square at 6pm, with The Snowman and The Snowdog following at 7pm. Both screenings are free to attend with no booking required.

Skating In The Square is also running until January, with tickets available to purchase online at www.skatinginthesquare.co.uk
