Centre Stage Celebrates Double Award Win

Centre Stage, a local Dance and Performing Arts School, based in Poole, is celebrating after winning awards for both its Ballet and Performing Arts provision.

The school was awarded Performing Arts School of the Year (Dorset) for 2023/24 by the South England Prestige Awards.

The Prestige Awards recognise independent businesses and individuals that consistently offer excellence - and who are successful and hard working on a local level. A panel of industry expert judges picked Centre Stage as the winner, based on the school’s expertise, professionalism, quality of teaching and accreditations.

In addition, the school was also recently awarded Best Ballet School in Poole for 2023 from the Quality Business Awards. The school received an overall quality score exceeding 95%, making it the top ranked in Poole for Satisfaction, Service, Reputation and Quality.

Zoe Mather, Principal and Artistic Director of Centre Stage, commented “we are absolutely thrilled that the school has been recognised in this way. These awards confirm the school as the best in Poole for our Ballet expertise and the best in Dorset for Performing Arts. We are so pleased and proud.”

Centre Stage has an outstanding reputation for specialist training in ballet, teaching Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet with School Principal, Miss Zoe, also an ‘Approved Mentor’ for the RAD. The school’s excellent Performing Arts provision, delivered by an experienced team of creatives, focuses on enjoyment and developing confidence whilst supporting students to develop their skills in dance, singing and acting.

Zoe Mather commented “For me, the most important outcome for our students is that they learn how to express themselves with confidence and individuality. Both ballet and performing arts are fantastic ways to develop new friendships and practice creativity and Centre Stage provides a structured, caring environment where children can not only learn but also flourish as individuals.”
