Disco queen Sophie gets ready to rattle the pots and pans in person

Everyone knows the best parties end up in the kitchen so Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, is delighted to announce that Sophie Ellis-Bextor is bringing her Kitchen Disco Tour to town.

It’s one of three new shows that go on sale this week with comedian Bridget Christie confirming a Theatre date at Lighthouse as well as Angelos Epithemiou as the headliner for November’s Coastal Comedy Colossal. What’s more, a further 300 seats go on sale this week for Grayson Perry’s Normal People in October when the award-winning artist will be making lemonade out of the mundanity of life... or something like that.

The full details of shows going on sale this week:

• Bridget Christie: Who Am I? Sunday 19 September 2021. 7.45pm. Theatre. Brand new show from the Edinburgh Comedy Award, Rose D’or and South Bank Sky Arts Award winner, star of her own Netflix special and BBC Radio 4 series, Bridget Christie Minds the Gap. Age guidance: 16+

• Grayson Perry: Normal People. Sunday 10 October 2021, 7pm, Concert Hall. With the stalls all but sold out balcony seats are now available for an enlightening and eyewatering evening in the company of the award-winning artist, BAFTA-winning TV presenter and bestselling author.

• Coastal Comedy Colossal. Saturday 13 November 2021. 8pm. Theatre. Cult favourite Angelos Epithemiou headlines the latest Costal Comedy Colossal line up in the Theatre. The award-winning burger van owner (aka comedian Dan Skinner) is joined by the incredible Jen Brister and rising star Jake Lambert all kept in line by our very own MC Adrienne Coles.

• Sophie Ellis-Bextor: Kitchen Disco Tour 2022. Saturday 19 March 2022. 7.30pm. Concert Hall. Having kept the nation dancing its way through lockdown with her social media Kitchen Parties, the disco queen takes the show on the road with maximum camp and frivolity turned up to 11.

Tickets go on pre-sale to Lighthouse Friends only from Wednesday 24 March and on general sale from Friday 26 March. Tickets must be booked in advance at https://www.lighthousepoole.co.uk

Subject to the latest safety guidelines, more shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
