Dorset law firm backs Dorset Wildlife Trust

Ellis Jones Solicitors | Press Release • May 16, 2023

Where there’s a will, there’s a way with Ellis Jones and DWT

Legal eagles at Ellis Jones Solicitors helped Dorset Wildlife Trust lift off during Free Wills Month.

The Dorset law firm donated free appointments for the charity’s supporters to set their affairs in order during the annual campaign.

Ellis Jones – with more than 170 staff including 23 Partners – is a longstanding corporate supporter of the Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT).

Its team have recently joined in a beach clean at Kimmeridge Bay and enjoyed a guided tour of the charity’s nature reserve on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.

Nigel Smith, Managing Partner at Ellis Jones, said: “Free Wills Month is an ingenious way of helping both charities and their supporters.

“We value our partnership with Dorset Wildlife Trust immensely and were only too keen to lend our support so it can continue to protect and promote the county’s wonderful natural environment.

“Our people love getting involved in the great outdoors with the trust and as a firm we are very conscious about the environment and continually looking for more sustainable ways of working.”

Free Wills Month is a national campaign held every March when charities offer members of the public the chance to make or update their will free of charge with a local solicitor.

DWT is the largest nature conservation charity in Dorset and has 40 nature reserves, including 100 hectares on the northern side of Brownsea Island which it manages with the National Trust.

Ellis Jones Partner Kate Brooks, who is Head of Employment, and Associate Chartered Legal Executive Rosemary Drew were recently given a tour of the island by DWT’s Chief Executive Brian Bleese and his team.

DWT is one of the many charities, organisations and good causes supported by Ellis Jones, which also include Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Swanage Railway, local schools, universities, sports clubs, Life Education Wessex, Dorset Mind and Cancer Research. It is also a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant.

Ellis Jones has six offices in Bournemouth, Poole, Ringwood, Swanage, Wimborne and London.
