The festive season is in full swing at The Grasshopper in Parkstone and The Olive Branch in Wimborne, as the vintage-inspired Hall & Woodhaus Alpine Bar arrives at the pubs following a successful first Christmas last year.

Hall & Woodhouse launched its Alpine Bars last year, providing a traditional Bavarian apres-ski experience. This year, the bars return to the Dorset pubs with new and improved décor and updated menu options, transporting guests to Germany as soon as they step inside.

Heidi McLaughlin, General Manager of The Olive Branch, said: “After such wonderful feedback from so many guests last year, we are very excited to welcome the Alpine Bar back for 2021. It’s the perfect respite from the busyness of the Christmas period, and the immersive apres-ski environment is such a hit with guests.”

Food offerings this year include German-inspired sweet and savoury authentic pretzels, bratwurst rolls delectable Alpine Platters - a perfectly Christmassy sharing platter that includes a whole baked camembert, pigs in blanket sausage rolls and much more.

A speciality drinks menu will also be available with a selection of wintry favourites such as mulled wine and traditional steins of German Helles lager. The bar will also serve wine, prosecco and various spritzes to provide something for everyone.

Heidi added: “We have especially been looking forward to opening in full force after last year’s restrictions. This has meant that we’ve been able to make the bar even more cosy and create a space where our guests feel both warm, welcome, and safe.”
