More than 75 tickets to Adventure Wonderland were donated over July and August to the Children’s Services at Dorset’s disability charity as part of the park’s 30th birthday celebrations. 

Clare Rochford, short breaks manager at Diverse Abilities, commented: “We are so thankful to the team at Adventure Wonderland for their incredibly kind donation of tickets, our Coping with CHAOS families love taking days out and having our staff in tow means they can properly enjoy themselves. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for our Project children to experience a bit of independence while socialising with their friends.” 

Coping with CHAOS provides play sessions and activities for SEND children of all ages and their families during weekends and school holidays, as well as an advice and guidance service for parents. 

Project My Time is also a series of holiday activities for young people with disabilities but is for those aged eight to 18 and gives them a chance to experience independence away from their families. Young people give feedback at the end of every session so their favourite activities can be incorporated into the timetable for the next holidays. 

Parents can self-refer their families or their children onto both services.

We’re really pleased to play a part in allowing these families and children to enjoy days out and make important memories together.”
