Daish’s Holidays sees late bookings soar for summer 2022

Leading UK hotel chain, Daish’s Holidays, has reported a surge in late bookings for summer 2022 with a 5 per cent increase for July and 12 per cent increase for August, compared to the same period in 2021.

With the threat of airport strikes and overseas travel disruption looming, holidaymakers are opting to avoid the chaos by spending the summer season on domestic shores. Visit Britain* has announced 65 per cent of staycationers are choosing UK breaks because they are easier to plan, and 54 per cent want to avoid the risk of cancelled flights.

Aviation expert, Julian Bray, is advising overseas travellers who have only paid a 10 per cent deposit should consider cancelling now 'because you have no guarantee of an outward or a return flight'.**

Paul Harper, Commercial Director at Daish’s Holidays, said: “July and August in 2021 was a record year high for bookings and this year is surpassing this. We are experiencing a spike in bookings as holidaymakers heed the warnings from industry experts concerning the strike action across Europe, which may cause overseas travel conditions to worsen as we come into the peak summer season.”

He added: “The summer holiday is a valued break for Britons, for many it’s their only holiday all year. The idea of this being cancelled last minute through conditions out of their control is devastating. We are delighted that so many are looking to us as a solution to this holiday crisis and we look forward to providing our visitors with a welcome respite from the travel chaos.”

Daish’s Holidays is a family-owned and operated business that acquired Robinsons Holidays in November 2020. In addition, the company acquired a fleet of 13 coaches, that operates from a range of pick-up locations in the north-west including Cumbria, Cheshire and Lancashire.

Five of its hotels have recently earned the TripAdvisor's 2022 Travellers Choice Award, with Bournemouth Sands Hotel and Daish’s Hotel on the Isle of Wight, both claiming the title for the eighth year running.

Daish’s Holidays offers value for money holidays for families, couples, and singles. Customers have the choice between coach drive or self-drive options across England and Wales. Each hotel offers day trips to local excursions and activities which can be booked at the hotel reception. Children enjoy free holidays or discounted prices depending on age.
